IslamicFinder Online Zakat Calculator 2025: A Step-by-Step Guide to Calculating Zakat on Your Assets
The IslamicFinder Online Zakat Calculator for 2025 offers a simple and detailed method to help you calculate your Zakat obligations. Follow these steps to determine the Zakat you need to pay:
Step 1: Determine the Value of Nisab in Your Local Currency
According to Sharia Law, Nisab is the minimum threshold of wealth a person must possess for over a year to be obligated to pay Zakat. You can calculate Nisab based on the value of Gold or Silver.
- For Silver, the standard Nisab is 21 ounces (612.36 grams) or (52.50 tola) or its equivalent cash value.
- For Gold, the standard Nisab is 3 ounces (87.48 grams) or (7.5 tola) or its equivalent cash value.
(Note: Check the current market value of gold and silver in your local currency to determine the Nisab amount.)
Step 2: Calculate the Value of Gold and Silver You Own
In this step, add the quantity of Gold and Silver you have possessed for more than a year. Enter the price per 10 grams in your local currency for each type of metal.
- If you own different types of Gold (e.g., 18K, 21K, 22K, 24K), add them separately as their values may vary.
- Include the total value of Silver you own, if applicable.
Step 3: Add the Value of Cash, Properties, and Stocks
Zakat is also applicable on other assets you have held for more than a year. In this step, include:
- Cash (in hand or in bank accounts).
- Properties (intended for investment or resale).
- Stocks or other investments.
Step 4: Subtract Debts and Liabilities
In this step, deduct any debts or liabilities that you owe. This includes:
- Outstanding loans.
- Payments due to others.
- Any other financial obligations.
These amounts will be subtracted from your total assets to determine your net Zakatable wealth.
Step 5: Review the Summary and Calculate Zakat
After completing the steps above, the calculator will provide a summary of your Zakat eligibility and the amount you need to pay.
- If your net wealth exceeds the Nisab threshold, you are obligated to pay Zakat.
- The payable Zakat is 2.5% of your total Zakatable assets.
- You will also have the option to print the summary for your records, helping you keep track of your Zakat payments each year.
This user-friendly tool ensures accuracy and ease in fulfilling your Zakat obligations, helping you contribute to those in need as per Islamic principles.
